Reunindo um sistema diferente de competi\u00e7\u00e3o, em que os pilotos representam seus pa\u00edses de origem, o projeto \u2014 informalmente conhecido como <strong>Copa do Mundo do Automobilismo <\/strong>\u2014 \u00e9 encabe\u00e7ado pelo ingl\u00eas <strong>Sir Keith<\/strong> <strong>Mills<\/strong>, ex-vice-presidente do Comit\u00ea Organizador dos Jogos Ol\u00edmpicos e Paral\u00edmpicos de Londres, e <strong>Marcin Budkowski<\/strong>, ex-chefe da <strong>Alpine <\/strong>na F\u00f3rmula 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Iniciada em 2005, a categoria tinha como objetivo distribuir pilotos experientes e novatos em equipes, de acordo com o pa\u00eds de cada um, em carros de desempenho igual. A primeira corrida, inclusive, foi vencida pelo <strong>Brasil<\/strong>, com <strong>Nelson Piquet Jr<\/strong>.
