A categoria n\u00e3o divulgou mais detalhes da sess\u00e3o, mas a <em>Racer<\/em> afirma que foi um carro da <strong>Honda <\/strong>que participou e testou o motor de 2,2 litros com o <strong>sistema de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de energia (ERS)<\/strong> da <strong>MAEHLE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>Honda<\/strong> tamb\u00e9m j\u00e1 havia sido <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandepremio.com\/br\/indy\/noticias\/honda-completa-primeiro-teste-novo-motor-hibrido-indy-indianapolis\/\" class=\"ek-link\">a primeira montadora a testar o primeiro projeto da <strong>Indy<\/strong><\/a>, o motor de 2,4 litros com o <strong>ERS <\/strong>em outubro. Contudo, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.grandepremio.com\/br\/indy\/noticias\/indy-congela-plano-introduzir-novos-motores-2024-custos-elevados\/\" class=\"ek-link\">a ideia foi abandonada por conta dos custos elevados<\/a>, e a categoria optou por manter os motores de combust\u00e3o atuais que foram introduzidos em 2012. De acordo com a <em>Racer<\/em>, o teste foi um sucesso completo, sem nenhum problema detectado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">O sistema de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o de energia da MAEHLE, grande novidade que ser\u00e1 introduzida em 2024, agora j\u00e1 acumula quase 1000 milhas de rodagem (aproximadamente 1600 quil\u00f4metros) e tem dados sinais encorajadores para a <strong>Honda<\/strong> e a <strong>Chevrolet<\/strong>. A <strong>Indy<\/strong> deve realizar mais testes em breve com o novo equipamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A estreia dos novos motores, inicialmente, era para acontecer em 2022, mas, por conta dos efeitos da pandemia de Covid-19, o primeiro adiamento da introdu\u00e7\u00e3o aconteceu em outubro de 2020.
