The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) confirmed that its current tire supply partnership will remain unchanged for the long haul. Following joint approval by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), both Michelin and Goodyear signed six-year contract extensions running through the end of the 2032 season.

Michelin retains its role as the exclusive tire supplier for the top-tier Hypercar class. While its previous agreement ran through 2029, the six-year extension provides technical continuity ahead of the new engine and chassis regulations debuting in 2030. The extension also aligns with Michelin’s current contract with the IMSA SportsCar Championship, maintaining seamless cross-championship balance for manufacturers competing in both series.

“The tender evaluation process covered a series of criteria, including technical expertise, product quality, sporting performance across diverse conditions, operational capability, customer service, sustainability commitments, marketing support, and long-term contribution to endurance racing growth,” the FIA stated in an official press release.

“We are particularly proud of the renewed trust shown in Michelin by the FIA and the ACO,” said Matthieu Bonardel, Michelin Motorsport Director. “I sincerely thank both organizations for the quality of our discussions throughout the process. This contract extension recognizes the quality of our tires and services, as well as our ability to innovate. It is also excellent news for our partner teams and manufacturers as we push performance limits while accelerating sustainable mobility.”

Goodyear also expanded its footprint in the World Endurance Championship. Initially holding a contract through 2027 before a brief extension to 2029 earlier this year, the American manufacturer has now locked in its commitment to the LMGT3 class through 2032. Although Goodyear submitted a proposal to supply the Hypercar category, the FIA and ACO selected Michelin for the top class, allowing Goodyear to focus exclusively on GT operations.
