The green flag waved at 1:25 PM local time. Louis Foster maintained his lead off the grid, while Caio Collet suffered suspension damage following lap-one contact and pitted for repairs. Kyle Kirkwood and Pato O’Ward gained five positions each on the opening lap.
Foster established a two-second gap over Christian Lundgaard by lap four, followed by Scott McLaughlin, Marcus Ericsson, Dennis Hauger, Rinus VeeKay, Scott Dixon, David Malukas, Mick Schumacher, and Graham Rahal.

When racing resumed, Grosjean held the lead as Ericsson completed his final scheduled pit stop under green on lap 70. Ericsson rejoined in sixth position on cold tires before mounting a late recovery drive.
