Martín and Márquez avoid Q1 as title fight intensifies

Both championship contenders secured direct access to Q2, avoiding the risk of elimination in Saturday’s opening qualifying session.

Martín leads the championship by just two points, 333 to 331, and finished Friday’s Practice 0.220s ahead of Márquez. The Aprilia rider also benefited from a particularly strong session for his manufacturer, with Fernández and Bezzecchi setting the two fastest times.

As GRANDE PRÊMIO reported in its complete Practice coverage, the three Aprilias finished ahead of the Ducati rider, reinforcing expectations that Mandalika could be one of the more difficult circuits remaining in his championship campaign.

Bagnaia, meanwhile, avoided Q1 by just 0.090s over Álex Rins, giving Ducati another rider in the final qualifying session.
