The winds blew firmly in Jorge Martín’s favor on Saturday (8) at Silverstone. The Spanish Aprilia rider took pole position for the British Grand Prix, won the sprint race from lights to flag, and extended his lead at the top of the 2026 MotoGP standings, capitalizing on missteps by several title rivals.
With his victory at Silverstone, Martín reached 220 points in the championship, opening up a 17-point cushion over Ai Ogura, who finished second in the short-format race and holds the same position in the standings. Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium at the British layout and moved ahead of Marc Márquez into third overall, sitting on 193 points against 191 for the Ducati rider.
Fabio Di Giannantonio (189) holds fifth position in the championship, followed by Raúl Fernández (159), Pedro Acosta (152), Francesco Bagnaia (143), Álex Márquez (93), and Luca Marini (79). Diogo Moreira failed to score on Saturday and remains 15th with 48 points.
MotoGP action resumes at Silverstone on Sunday (9) for the British Grand Prix, round 12 of the 2026 season. GRANDE PRÊMIO will cover all the action throughout the weekend alongside the support categories in the World Championship.
