Valentín Perrone showed strong late pace to top Moto3 Practice for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The Tech3 rider produced a surprise benchmark on Friday (7), setting a time of 2m09.568s to edge Scott Ogden by just 0.010s.
Veda Pratama, Brian Uriarte, Casey O’Gorman, David Almansa, Máximo Quiles, Álvaro Carpe, Adrián Cruces, Joel Esteban, Eddie O’Shea, Marco Morelli, Adrián Fernández, and Ryusei Yamanaka secured the remaining direct entry spots into Q2.
Several key contenders—including Hakim Danish, Matteo Bertelle, Rico Salmela, and Joel Kelso—missed the top-14 cut and will be forced to navigate tomorrow’s Q1 session.
MotoGP action continues from August 7 to 9 with the British GP, round 12 of the 2026 season. GRANDE PRÊMIO will cover all on-track action throughout the weekend across every World Championship class.

How Moto3 Practice unfolded at Silverstone:
Under dry and stable weather conditions at Silverstone, riders embarked on the 35-minute session aiming to secure one of the 14 direct Q2 spots. Ruché Moodley, David Muñoz, and Zen Mitani were notable absentees, replaced by Leonardo Abruzzo, David Gonzalez, and Kiattisak Singhapong respectively.
After the opening ten minutes, David Almansa led the field with a 2m09.668s lap, closely followed by Brian Uriarte and Máximo Quiles. Early pace across the field remained relatively modest, with only eight riders within a second of the leader’s benchmark.
The early minutes proved particularly challenging for rookie Hakim Danish. Making his Silverstone debut, he set an initial lap of 2m13.073s—over three seconds off the pace—highlighting early acclimatization hurdles at the British venue.
The tempo quickened through the mid-session phase, though major championship contenders including Jesús Ríos and Guido Pini remained outside the Q2 progression zone.
At the 15-minute mark, Uriarte took over at the top ahead of Almansa and Quiles. Álvaro Carpe slotted into fourth, with Casey O’Gorman completing the top five. In tenth, Adrián Fernández posted a 2m10.450s to temporarily pull clear of the drop zone.
With seven minutes remaining, virtually the entire field re-emerged from the pit lane for their final qualifying-style simulation runs. Marco Morelli held 14th with a 2m10.601s, edging Eddie O’Shea by a mere 0.001s in the fight for the final automatic Q2 spot.
Sitting 18th, Danish made progress on his final attempt. Despite encountering traffic, he briefly climbed into 12th position, but was shuffled back down the order as late improvements rolled in, ultimately missing out on a direct Q2 spot.
In the battle for top honors, Veda Pratama briefly took the lead before Scott Ogden set the benchmark time. Moments later, Valentín Perrone logged a 2m09.568s to seal top spot in a hectic conclusion to the session.
The session concluded with tight margins across the board, as 19 riders were separated by less than a second from Perrone. Notable names forced into Q1 on Saturday (8) include Hakim Danish, Matteo Bertelle, Rico Salmela, and Joel Kelso, who will battle for the four remaining spots in the main qualifying shootout.
