Gibbs and Hocevar ran each other towards the outside line, however, allowing the Penske driver to attack the bottom of the circuit and take first place on lap 494 of 500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Larson recovered to finish second, 1.248s behind Logano, with Hocevar only 0.005s further back in third. Christopher Bell and Gibbs completed the top five after a race that produced ten cautions and left only 12 cars on the lead lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result gave Logano his third victory of the 2026 season and his third at Bristol Motor Speedway. His 40 Cup wins place him level with NASCAR Hall of Famer Mark Martin for 20th on the championship\u2019s all-time list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI thought for a minute I might just finish third or fourth, but it all kind of worked our way,\u201d Logano said. \u201cMerry Christmas to me. I got a gift there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThere is nothing like the Bristol Night Race. This is just the coolest experience as a race car driver, being in front of all the fans, hearing everyone screaming, cheering and sometimes booing. That\u2019s all right. It\u2019s pretty awesome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Blaney\u2019s dominant race ends against Bristol wall<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blaney had controlled much of the evening after starting 29th. The Penske driver won Stage 2 and led a race-high 202 laps despite losing track position because of a pit-entry penalty during the final stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He recovered to pass Hocevar for second on lap 457 and then moved towards the inside to cover the Spire Motorsports driver\u2019s preferred line. Hocevar did not lift and made contact with the rear of the No. 12 Ford, sending Blaney into the outside wall at Turn 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The damage ended Blaney\u2019s race after 457 laps. He was classified 33rd and fell three places to sixth in the championship, 52 points behind the new leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI got crashed,\u201d Blaney said after the incident. \u201cI got inside the 77 and cleared him off Turn 4. He never lifted and hooked me in the left rear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hocevar accepted that Blaney had reason to be furious but disputed the suggestion that the collision had been entirely deliberate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI understand why he\u2019s upset,\u201d Hocevar said. \u201cThat\u2019s probably his championship, so I understand 100%. I\u2019d probably be mad at me too. Whether it was his mistake, my mistake or my fault, I\u2019d be pretty pissed if I was him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hocevar and Blaney exchange punches on pit road<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blaney approached Hocevar beside the No. 77 Chevrolet after the chequered flag and shoved his rival. Hocevar immediately responded with a punch before officials and team members moved between the drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Blaney repeatedly attempted to reach Hocevar again as crew members restrained both competitors. Neither driver appeared injured, while spectators overlooking pit road stood and cheered during the confrontation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hocevar later acknowledged the crowd and joked that Bristol could use the fight to promote its next NASCAR event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey got an old-school Bristol show,\u201d he said. \u201cHopefully, they can sell some tickets next year and improve ticket sales.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 23-year-old added that he had reacted after Blaney initiated the physical confrontation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cHe grabbed me, and I was like, \u2018OK, I\u2019m not going to wait.\u2019 I think everybody saw the intensity of the Chase.
