Lewis Hamilton received medical attention from the FIA after feeling unwell following the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday. Ferrari confirmed that the seven-time Formula 1 world champion had been examined by the governing body’s medical team and excused from his post-race media commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“After the race, Lewis felt unwell and was examined by the FIA medical team. The FIA excused him from the post-race media session,” Ferrari said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferrari did not disclose the cause of Hamilton’s discomfort or provide further details about his condition. The statement confirmed that he had been assessed by medical personnel, but did not indicate whether any additional treatment was required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamilton had finished sixth at Marina Bay after starting third, losing positions during the closing stages of a race in which Ferrari had initially appeared capable of securing a double podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The British driver had spent much of the Grand Prix fighting near the front, but his strategy left him vulnerable to several rivals on fresher tyres. Kimi Antonelli, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri eventually overtook him, leaving Hamilton outside the top five.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the chequered flag, Hamilton apologised to Ferrari for a strategy decision he said had cost the team valuable points<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Sorry, boys. I let you down today with that strategy. My call, and I lost us valuable points. I’ll try and make up for it in the next one,” he said over the team radio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race was won by Max Verstappen, who secured his first Singapore Grand Prix victory<\/a> ahead of Hamilton’s teammate Charles Leclerc and Mercedes driver Antonelli. Ferrari collected 26 points through its second- and sixth-place finishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hamilton’s absence from the post-race media session was authorised by the FIA following his medical assessment. No further medical update had been confirmed in the information available at the time of writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
