One of the greatest names in MMA history, Jon Jones revealed a rather curious interaction with Lewis Hamilton on social media \u2014 one that ended with the seven-time World Champion unfollowing and blocking the UFC athlete. It all started with a hunt led by Jones, but with a unique twist: the fighter used an AR-15 rifle to shoot feral hogs from a helicopter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I went hunting a few years ago with Army soldiers, and we ended up hunting wild hogs out of a helicopter using AR-15 rifles,” Jones said on the ALF Global<\/em> podcast channel. “I was so proud of myself because I bagged one of the hogs from the helicopter, and it was donated to a local family,” he explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite Jones\u2019 “pride,” Hamilton was far from impressed. Upon learning about the incident, the Ferrari driver sent a long text message to the fighter, who said he was called a coward for not giving the animal a fighting chance. Immediately afterward, Lewis had no interest in making peace: he unfollowed the American and blocked him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Lewis saw me shooting the hog from the helicopter and wrote me a long message. He called me a coward, said he thought I was better than that, and that the traditional way to hunt animals should be with a spear or a bow and arrow. He said only a coward would shoot an animal from a helicopter,” Jones revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“He said, ‘At least give the animal a chance to fight back.’ Then he unfollowed me and blocked me. And it sucked because I was a fan of his, but he was really disappointed in me over that shot,” Jones concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shooting a hog from a helicopter might sound bizarre, but the truth is that Jones has accumulated controversies on multiple fronts throughout his career. In 2014, he had to complete 40 hours of community service after throwing a punch at rival Daniel Cormier during a face-off, sparking a brawl; after winning the fight, however, Jon tested positive for cocaine in January 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His controversial history also includes a hit-and-run accident involving a pregnant woman, two other doping suspensions, firing a gun while intoxicated inside a car, and a call from his own daughter to the police accusing him of domestic violence against his wife, among other incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formula 1 is currently on its summer break. The category resumes its 2026 season<\/strong> activities from August 21 to 23<\/strong> with the Dutch Grand Prix<\/strong> at Zandvoort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
