MotoGP confirmed on Friday (July 31) that the Thai Grand Prix will kick off the 2027 season, ushering in the new technical regulations featuring 850cc machinery. The event is scheduled for March 5\u20137 at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, serving as the inaugural race under the rulebook spanning the 2027\u20132031 cycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This marks the third straight year that Thailand will host the championship opener, solidifying the Southeast Asian nation’s prominent role on the Grand Prix calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buriram has established itself as one of the most popular fixtures on the MotoGP tour. At the 2026 season opener, Marco Bezzecchi claimed victory for Aprilia in front of a record-breaking weekend crowd of 228,228 spectators\u2014a result that underscored the strength of the Thai market for the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Hosting the MotoGP season opener for a third consecutive year is a testament to the exceptional partnership we’ve built in Thailand and the incredible passion of the fans.
