Ambient temperatures registered 19\u00b0C at the start of the session, with track temperatures at 33\u00b0C, accompanied by light winds of 7 km\/h and 45% humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Confirmed absentees for the weekend include Gresini&#8217;s Ferm\u00edn Aldeguer and LCR&#8217;s Johann Zarco. The Spaniard remains sidelined following a crash at Assen and is replaced by Iker Lecuona, while the Frenchman remains out of action, making way once again for Cal Crutchlow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the pit lane light turned green, riders headed out for the 45-minute session. Fresh off a contract renewal with Trackhouse, Ra\u00fal Fern\u00e1ndez took an early lead with a 1m59.867s inside the first ten minutes, before being displaced by \u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez, who lowered the benchmark to 1m59.408s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shortly after, the Aprilia duo took charge at the top, with Jorge Mart\u00edn posting a 1m59.372s and Marco Bezzecchi slotting in right behind on a 1m59.408s. However, \u00c1lex responded forcefully, becoming the first rider to break into the 1m58s bracket at Silverstone to reclaim top spot with a 1m58.692s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video class=\"video-js vjs-big-play-centered\" data-gp-vjs=\"1\" controls src=\"https:\/\/grandepremio-portal.b-cdn.net\/2026\/08\/IjZDSeZyt1p5rGvx.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00c1lex M\u00e1rquez (Video: MotoGP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreira used the session to gather his first impressions aboard 1000cc machinery at Silverstone, holding 12th position with a 2m00.369s lap behind the factory Honda pairing of Joan Mir and Luca Marini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With 19 minutes remaining in FP1, MotoGP recorded its first crash of the weekend.
