Marco Bezzecchi revealed he suffered a physical “setback” in the aftermath of his heroic performance at the British Grand Prix. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s race in Aragon, the Italian rider explained that he is utilizing all available time to heal his body following a heavy crash at Sachsenring.
The driver of bike #72 suffered a high-speed fall during qualifying for the German GP, fracturing his collarbone alongside sustaining knee injuries that complicated his recovery process.
Despite those physical limitations, Bezzecchi exceeded expectations at Silverstone. After securing fifth on the grid, he scored back-to-back third-place finishes in both the Sprint and Sunday’s main race. That performance allowed him to reclaim second position in the World Championship, sitting 31 points behind leader Jorge Martín.
“I can’t wait to get to Aragon,” Bezzecchi said. “For sure, it will be a demanding weekend because, after Silverstone, I had a small setback caused by the effort of that weekend,” he revealed.
“Anyway, we expected this, so we are trying to make the most of the available time to get everything right,” he added. “In any case, I am extremely happy to go to Aragon: it is a track I really like, and I can’t wait to get back on the bike,” he concluded.
