It was the Team Penske driver’s third win of the season and his second consecutive triumph at the track, punctuated by leading 115 of the 301 laps.
Blaney even had to overcome a poorly executed pit stop during the event, but held on for nearly 40 laps on tires designed for wet track conditions to deny Bubba Wallace his first victory of 2026 by a margin of just 0.586 seconds.
“It was a long journey to the end, we made good decisions after the pit-stop issue. I just tried to manage my things, I knew the guys who took four tires would press me eventually—and Bubba came on strong,” Blaney analyzed after the race.
“I was trying to manage traffic while at the same time looking after my tires and trying not to make a mistake. It was a cool race, a fun day, starting in the rain and finishing on a beautiful day,” he added.
