News Summary
- Ted Kravitz expects Lawson and Lindblad to remain at Racing Bulls in 2027, although no official announcement has been made.
- The pair have helped Racing Bulls reach fifth in the Constructors’ Championship, with 100 points.
- Team principal Alan Permane says a decision will be made in the coming weeks, with Nikola Tsolov also under consideration.
Racing Bulls is increasingly expected to retain Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad for the 2027 Formula 1 season, according to Sky Sports F1 reporter Ted Kravitz, who believes the team’s current drivers have done enough to earn another year together.
Speaking on Ted’s Notebook during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Kravitz suggested that Red Bull’s management would reward the pair for their performances in 2026, particularly their contribution to Racing Bulls’ position as the leading midfield team.
“They work well together, they score lots of points, it looks like Racing Bulls are going to finish fifth in the constructors’ and if only to reward them for scoring those points, they will be given another contract,” Kravitz said, as reported by Speedcafe.
His assessment comes as the team approaches a decision on its remaining seats for next season, with Formula 2 contender Nikola Tsolov also seeking promotion.
Kravitz expects Racing Bulls to choose continuity
Lawson and Lindblad have established an effective partnership during the 2026 campaign, regularly finishing in the points and helping Racing Bulls consolidate fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship.
The team has collected 100 points after 17 grands prix, putting it ahead of Alpine in the fight to lead the midfield.
Lawson has contributed 61 of those points while driving for Racing Bulls, with Lindblad adding 38 and Yuki Tsunoda accounting for the remaining point.
The New Zealander also scored 14 points during a three-race spell at Red Bull, when he substituted for the injured Isack Hadjar.
Kravitz’s prediction is particularly significant because Racing Bulls has traditionally served as a development team for Red Bull, creating competition between established drivers and younger prospects.
The Sky Sports F1 reporter also suggested that Tsolov could remain in a reserve role in 2027 rather than immediately receiving a race seat.
However, that possibility has not been confirmed by Red Bull or Racing Bulls.

Permane says 2027 decision is still open
Despite the speculation, Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane has maintained that the final driver selection remains under consideration.
Speaking during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Permane explained that the team was evaluating three candidates for two available seats.
“We’re in no rush,” Permane said, emphasising the need to balance immediate performance with the development of younger drivers.
The team principal acknowledged that both Lawson and Lindblad had performed strongly, while Tsolov’s progress in Formula 2 had also attracted attention.
Permane expects a decision within the coming weeks but has declined to establish a definitive announcement date.
His comments follow Racing Bulls’ earlier confirmation that Lawson and Lindblad were awaiting a decision for 2027.
Lawson’s Singapore results strengthen his position
Lawson produced another strong weekend in Singapore, finishing fifth in Saturday’s sprint before taking seventh in Sunday’s grand prix.
The results delivered ten additional championship points, continuing a productive period for the New Zealander.
Racing Bulls’ recent performances have also reinforced its position ahead of Alpine, with Lawson playing an important role in maintaining that advantage.
The driver has now accumulated 75 points in the Drivers’ Championship, compared with Lindblad’s 38.
His total includes the 14 points earned at Red Bull, which do not contribute to Racing Bulls’ Constructors’ Championship tally.
