Envision Racing has completed its driver line-up for Formula E’s new GEN4 era by promoting Zak O’Sullivan to a full-time race seat for the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old Briton will make his Formula E debut alongside Maximilian Günther, whose multi-year move to Envision was announced on Monday.
It represents a complete driver reset for the British-based team following the departures of Sébastien Buemi and Joel Eriksson, while also giving O’Sullivan the opportunity he has spent almost two years preparing for.
“I’m very excited to be joining the team full-time for the upcoming season,” O’Sullivan said.

O’Sullivan’s promotion has been building since 2025
Although O’Sullivan will officially be a Formula E rookie, he is already well integrated into Envision.
The former Williams Academy driver joined the team as its simulator driver in January 2025 and has since played a significant behind-the-scenes role supporting its race operation.
Envision has also progressively increased his track mileage.
O’Sullivan drove during rookie sessions in Jeddah and Berlin before returning to the car in Miami earlier this year. He then participated in the Madrid Rookie Test in March, his fourth opportunity behind the wheel of Formula E machinery.
That familiarity makes his promotion considerably less of a gamble than handing a seat to a driver arriving from outside the championship.
O’Sullivan has also continued racing in Japan, competing in Super Formula while expanding his experience beyond the European junior single-seater ladder.
His CV includes victories in Formula 3, Formula 2 and Super GT, while his junior career peaked with second place in the 2023 FIA F3 championship.
Envision starts again with Günther and O’Sullivan

Envision will continue as a Jaguar customer after the two organisations extended their powertrain agreement into the new regulations.
