Carmelo Ezpeleta promised to release the first images of the circuit that will host MotoGP’s Australian GP in Adelaide starting in 2027. The series’ CEO also highlighted expansion into urban centers as part of the strategy to broaden reach and connect with new audiences.

Speaking during a conference with Wall Street investors ahead of last weekend’s British GP, the MotoGP CEO outlined plans to bring the sport closer to fans and expand its presence in key strategic markets.

“For the debut of the Adelaide GP, we expect to reveal the first rendered images of the new circuit in the coming weeks. We also recently organized a show run event in London, attracting over 20,000 attendees. As we expand our reach, we see attractive opportunities to engage fans in creative and immersive experiences in key markets around the world,” he stated.

Ezpeleta also emphasized MotoGP’s growth across digital platforms. According to the executive, the championship closed the latest quarter with 63 million social media followers, a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.

“We remain focused on expanding MotoGP’s global footprint and are excited by the growth across our digital and social media platforms. We closed the quarter with 63 million social media followers—up 3% year-over-year—with particularly strong performance on TikTok, where engagement grew by over 80%,” he concluded.

The 2027 season will mark a major sporting transition with the introduction of the new 850cc machinery. It is worth noting that Rio de Janeiro has been tipped as one of the candidates to host the championship’s official launch event, which will introduce MotoGP’s new era to the public.

MotoGP now takes a short break before returning to action from August 28 to 30 for the Aragon GP, the 13th round of the 2026 season.
